Monolith Bay is an adult 3D adventure built in a small open world sandbox setting. Currently in development by Team Monolith, the game is set to release on Steam in Early Access somewhere in October 2021, published by TinyHat Studios.

Monolith Bay Gameplay
As an open world sandbox game, Monolith Bay allows players to make their own adventures by giving them the freedom to explore and do quests at their own leisure. The game may start very slow but will eventually grow into an applaudable state in which there are multiple options for what to do at a given time, thus not forcing the player upon a single linear path.
Using a typical visual novel format to present the story in which characters appear on the screen with text bubbles guiding narrative in silence, currently, the game offers no voice acting but may be subject to change. Every now and then, the player is given dialogue options to choose how to reply to different characters during visual novel cutscenes, some of which can reward the player with affection points used in the dating part of the game.
In Monolith Bay, you have an option to date sexy babes with whom you may build a relationship and eventually have sex. While lewd scenes and sex are delivered through the main story and side quests, the dating element is one to boost and elevate the adult portion by allowing the player to chase specific characters of their interest.
Story
“One day, your family members mysteriously vanish. What’s more- you’ve begun receiving a number of creepy calls from an unknown source. Your life is in danger. As such, you and your step-sister are forced to relocate to the odd little suburb of Monolith Bay. Thrills & chills await in the adventure which unfolds- along with a number of sexual encounters with the locals and townies of this enigmatic city!”

Playing as a male character who you get to name yourself, your journey begins by arriving in a small tiny town known as Monolith Bay. Together with your stepsister Violet, the two of you settle to live with your uncle Lloyd who is a crazy scientist with a little science workshop in his garage.
In a tragic accident in which your parents are trapped in another dimension, uncle Floyd claims to be responsible for this that he now stands to correct using your help. While working as your uncle’s little errand boy, you get to explore the world of Monolith Bay and get into all kinds of silly and erotic situations.
World
The town of Monolith Bay may be small but there are a handful of things to do, many of them quite simple but entertaining. Free to explore at your own leisure, you may discover quests when strolling around, or receive them straight to your phone as a text message from different characters like Uncle Lloyd and Violet at random times.
Money can be earned by taking on a job of delivering pizza by car. This money can then be used to buy goodies like a bike to traverse the world faster or get your hands on important quest items.
The world of Monolith Bay is still in development with plans to improve and expand its playable areas even further than what it can offer right now. While a majority of the time may be spent in Monolith Bay, there are areas outside of it that the player will eventually get to visit.
Quests
Questing is offered naturally in a story-driven style in which uncle Lloyd will constantly be giving new tasks for the player to complete that will slowly bring him closer to completing a science device that is promised to bring the kids’ parents back. Even if the parents are trapped in limbo, this does not mean you and your stepsister cannot take things slow and enjoy your time by taking upon side quests or fool around with each other and the people of Monolith Bay.
As you explore the town and its surrounding areas, there are NPCs that can be approached for a potential side quest often with a lewd reward waiting at the end. Sometimes side quests can also be received to your phone from which their progress can be monitored.
Dating
On top of the small sandbox world to explore with a story to advance, the player can discover sexy and cute girls to date. All girls start from an uninterested state that you slowly work to change by providing compliments and being nice to them when opportunities arise. Eventually, these cold relationships turn into warmer ones in which you may go on dates, invite the girls to your room, ask them to follow you around, or get undressed to have sex, and more!
Taking the dating system one step further from what players have grown to expect from them, in Monolith Bay, you can also; get married, move in together, and get your girl pregnant. While this feature has not been implemented yet, it is one already teased.
Supernatural events
Monolith Bay is a town in which any number of strange things can happen, some of them supernatural. When given a mission to go pick up Lloyd’s stuff from an abandoned church on a hill, you will soon discover that the game has a little more to offer than what meets the eye…
Character Creator
Monolith Bay provides its players with a simple but robust character creator. By allowing players to utilize their own characters in the adult portion of the game, no longer are they restricted to enjoy only premade characters from the story.
You are free to customize many parts of the girls’ bodies, so much so that making freaks of nature is quite an easy thing to pull off if so pleased. Drag queens, girls with beards, and downright alien-looking creatures, much is possible when maxing out each slider.
Girls are not the only thing able to be customized. The main character from the story is also customizable, albeit by very little. When playing, from the character’s own room at uncle Lloyd’s house by accessing the wardrobe, one can change the MC’s shirt as well.
Monolith Bay Adult Content
Filled with sexual encounters, in Monolith Bay you will be meeting all sorts of sexy and cute characters, some of which are happy to jump into sex almost right away and some that make the player work for their booty through main and side quests.
Outside the main game, there is a simple sex simulator mode where you can enjoy self-made or story characters as you please, assuming you have supported Team Monolith on their Patreon to unlock this feature in full. This same sex simulator is utilized in the main game as well when getting lucky with various characters in different situations, though not always as some story sex scenes can be unique not always following the established formula.
Like a very simple minigame, sex is controlled by a mouse. The faster the player moves or clicks his mouse, the faster the sex becomes as a result. For those not interested in this mechanic, more often than not, there is an Automode to enjoy characters having sex hands-free.
Monolith Bay might be a low-quality mess right now in its current state in development but despite this, it is still worth every bit of your attention. Providing a unique open world experience for mature taste, it has an interesting story to follow and entertaining gameplay, albeit very simple by design. Though the idea of an open world adult game is not a new one, there are very few quite like it.
